Modular kitchen pricing

A kitchen quote is really
a length of counter, priced.

Layout shape decides how much running length you're buying. Everything else — material, countertop, and appliances — is layered on top of that single number.

What actually sets the price

Four inputs explain almost all of the variation between two kitchen quotes.

02 / METHOD
01

Layout shape

A U-shaped kitchen has roughly three times the cabinetry of a straight one for the same room — shape sets total running length.

02

Cabinet material

The per-running-foot rate covers cabinet boxes, shutters, and installation labour together.

03

Countertop

Priced per square foot separately, since stone fabrication is its own trade with its own margins.

04

Appliances & fittings

Chimney ducting, hob cutouts, and pull-out units are each a flat cost layered on top of the base cabinetry.

Frequently asked

03 / FAQ
Does this include the chimney, hob, and sink themselves?+
No — the appliance line items here cover fitting, ducting, and cutouts only. The appliances themselves are bought separately and priced by the appliance brand, not the carpenter.
Why is a parallel kitchen priced like an L-shape?+
Both use two walls of cabinetry, so they carry a similar running length even though the layout looks different on the floor plan.
Is quartz really worth the premium over granite?+
Quartz is engineered and non-porous, so it needs less sealing over time. Granite is a natural stone and slightly cheaper, with more variation piece to piece.
